Built by vision · Driven by freedom
A fast, private browser for Windows and Linux.
LawleyOS Portal blocks trackers, insists on HTTPS, strips tracking tags off the links you click and tells every site not to sell your data. Nothing to configure and no account to create. Search runs through DuckDuckGo. Built by the LawleyOS project; runs on Windows 10 and 11 and on LawleyOS, Debian and Ubuntu.
Private by default
Six protections that are already on when you open the first tab.
There is no privacy mode to switch on. These run on every page, in every window, and the shield in the address bar shows you what they did.
Tracker and ad blocking
Requests to 225 known tracking hosts are stopped before they leave your PC, grouped into five categories and graded red to blue so the report means something. The list was checked against what real gaming, news, tool and weather sites load today.
HTTPS only
Plain http:// addresses are upgraded to HTTPS. If a site has no secure version, the Portal stops and asks you first instead of silently falling back to an unencrypted connection.
Tracking-link cleanup
28 campaign and click identifiers are removed from links as you click them, so the next site learns nothing about where you came from.
Global Privacy Control
Every request carries the Sec-GPC signal and every page sees Global Privacy Control enabled. Under laws like the CCPA, that is a binding do-not-sell request.
Fingerprinting detection
The Portal watches for pages that draw hidden graphics and read them back, ask for your exact graphics card model, or process hidden audio to measure your device, and names each attempt in the report.
Permissions, one at a time
When a page wants your location, camera, microphone, notifications or clipboard, you get a plain-language prompt. Your choice applies only this time; nothing is remembered without asking.
The shield
Click the shield and see exactly what a page tried to do.
The number in the address bar is live. Behind it is a report for the current page: what was blocked, what was cleaned, and which other sites it contacted that aren't on any list. Shown here for a typical ad-funded news article.

Click and leave-page reports
Counts are distinct tracking hosts on the front page at the time of the visit; sites change their ad partners often. Clean means the page contacted nothing on the blocklist, not that the site keeps no data of its own.

Get LawleyOS Portal.
LawleyOS Portal is built by the LawleyOS project, the Linux operating system from Project Yelwal. It runs on Windows 10 and 11, on LawleyOS, and on Ubuntu 24.04 or Debian 13 and newer. Free, and no account to create. The two builds share the same privacy design; the Linux build additionally blocks third-party cookies, can clear everything when it closes, and can switch the whole system to encrypted DNS.

Questions
Good to know.
What renders the pages?
On Windows, LawleyOS Portal is built on Microsoft Edge WebView2, the Chromium engine that ships with Windows 11 and most up-to-date Windows 10 PCs, so sites render exactly as they do in Edge or Chrome. On LawleyOS and other Linux systems it uses WebKitGTK, the engine behind GNOME Web and Safari. On both, the Portal adds its own privacy layer and its own interface around the engine.
Does it need anything else installed?
On Windows, the .NET 8 runtime is bundled in the installer, and the WebView2 Runtime is already present on Windows 11 and on Windows 10 PCs with a current version of Edge; if it is missing, Microsoft offers it as a free download. On Linux, the .deb package is tiny because it uses the GTK 4 and WebKitGTK 6.0 libraries already on the system; it declares them as dependencies, so apt installs anything missing. That is why it needs Ubuntu 24.04 or newer, or Debian 13 or newer. On LawleyOS the Portal is already included.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere. There are no accounts and no sync. Settings and bookmarks are saved as two small files in your user profile, and Clear browsing data wipes site data from your PC. The Portal never phones home.
Will blocking trackers break sites?
Rarely. Only known tracking hosts are blocked, and anything else a page contacts is allowed and listed under “Other outside sites contacted” so you can see it.
